Hot Tub Running Costs

Probably the number one question we are asked - how much does a hot tub cost to run? As you may have already guessed, getting a straight answer to this question is tricky! There are so many factors that affect running costs, making them hard to quantify:

1. Water Volume

2. Fit of cover

3. Surface area of water

4. Size of Heater

5. Size of Pumps

6. Insulation

7. How much it is used

Number 7 will have the biggest effect than any of the others running a hot tub with pumps on and cover off for half an hour will use around three times as much power as one day on standby. The size of pumps and heater will also have a large effect - small pumps and heaters make for very economical hot tubs, but lack the power required to keep the water hot for any length of time when in use, or provide a powerful massage.

Insulation

All our hot tubs are fully insulated with at least one layer of foam. The premium range is double-insulated with foam (Shell + Pipes, and Cabinet), while the Family range is double-insulated with Foam (Shell + Pipes), and a Reflective Air Trap (Cabinet). All the hot tubs in our Economy Range are fully-foamed (no air space), except the Silver and Gold Models which are foamed on the Shell and Pipes only.

Actual Costs

So cutting to the chase; All of our hot tubs should cost under £1 per day at current energy prices, with a reasonable amount of daily use (5 hrs per week).
